*** Isn't so odd that through our entire culture, instead of truly wonderful things getting all the attention, merely mediocre ones rule? ***

Jeez, you're sounding a bit egotistical here, Eric. Just because you like, or dislike, something does not mean the majority of Americans should agree with you. Look what is popular in America; American Idle, rap, and Paris Hilton. Why do you think that is? Because it's all good? Hell no. It's all crap. But that's my opinion that it all crap. Millions love it. Why? Who knows. Who cares. All I know they'll all be gone in a few years and the next flavor of the month will be rammed down our throats.

*** American capitalism is truly about the mass produced and carefully manufactured drivel that will sell instead of promoting the good stuff. ***

With all the PR money in the world behind RL Burnside, how many copies of "A Bothered Mind" do you think he'd sell? Just because you and I think he's good doesn't necessarily mean others will too. Everyone has different tastes. That doesn't mean our tastes are better that those who may not like Burnside. They're just different. After you listened to all the Burn Unit cd's you received, can you honestly say you enjoyed every song on every cd? I'm SURE there was something on mine you couldn't stand. Does that mean your tastes are superior to mine? Of course not. Well, maybe it does. What do I know.

*** American food, radio, movies, television, et cetera are all dominated by mediocre garbage. And the good things, shows like The Wire, RL Burnside, decent music, have to struggle to even exist in all this garbage. ***

How do you get up in the morning?
