Vassar Clements died today, peacefully, and thankfully at his home (as he had requested), in the early morning, family members at his bedside. 

One of the world's great all-time musicians and a swell guy .  He could play any type of music on his fiddle, and apparently had a great fondness for Coltrane.

Farewell to a real legend.  Rest in peace, buddy.
