From time to time I come across a very profound article that is an eye opener. This article, originally printed in Foreign Policy by Edward Luttwak and called "Iraq: The Logic of Disengagement" is truly a must read. An adapted article in in the Oct 05 Harper's (and to our right wingers on the board, don't bitch and whine about where the link goes to - that was the only place I could find that posted the article online). http://www.californiapeaceaction.org/capa/index.php?option=com_news&task=view&Itemid=82&id=271If half of what he writes of is true, we are truly in big trouble in Iraq. The war in Iraq is much, much more complex than we have been led to believe and after reading this article it seems will be even more difficult to navigate than Vietnam. I can't implore enough for people to read this article. It shows that Iraq is not Bush perceived comic book world of simple black and white. I'm serious folks - read this article and then every time you see a politician or pundit harking this war in comic book terms, you will understand what our soldiers are facing.
