Dear Randi:
My friend Charles Grandall, an avid listener of yours since your days down here in
Years ago Charles would mention stories he'd heard on (I think) 940 WINZ. He talked about George H Bush, his connections to the Carlyle Group, the Bildebergs, the Trilateral Commission how he and his ilk had every intention of robbing this great country blind. He was very passionate. We would all laugh and accuse him of following some conspiracy nut. We were just a bunch of windsurfing bums. He would assure us that the person giving him this information (You) was a meticulous researcher and that we could find out the facts ourselves if we weren't so lazy. Later he told us about a reporter who had been hired by the Republicans to write lies about President Clinton in order to destroy his credibility. None of us believed they could or for that matter would do such an underhanded thing.
Over the years he would tell us many such stories of deceit and treachery administered by the Bush family. All from your show. As time passed all of these stories would start showing up in major news papers. Sometimes in a few months, some, years. It got to the point that all of us would believe his/your stories and would say "But what can we do about it we're just peons".
Charles didn't feel that way. He believed he could change things by spreading your words. One person at a time. He got involved in grass roots movements. He protested at the Broward County Courthouse during the dispute of the 2000 election (He claimed he personally shouted down Carl Rove in the crowd), and campaigned vigorously for John Kerry. He encouraged many people including my wife to get involved by becoming poll workers or watchers to help insure a fair election. Kerry/Edwards won in
On Sun. Oct. 9 I sat down and thought hard about what Charles would want his friends and family to do in the event of his death. Charles was an extremely kind, caring, understanding, forgiving, and compassionate human being. He would want people to continue to enjoy the thrill of windsurfing, kayaking, and mountain biking, to treasure the peace and satisfaction of creating, and, to always seek and spread the truth even if it makes others uncomfortable, because most of all Charles loved this country and wanted to save it from the corrupt traitors currently in charge. I will carry the torch for Charles. Hopefully other friends will too. Maybe together we can turn things around. For Charles. For the world.
