The goal seems to be the just what all those PNAC guys who dominate this Administration have been shooting for since '92; world domination through control of strategic resources-oil being of preeminent concern.
You might also consider an economic theory put forth by a fella named Schumpeter called, Creative Destruction. It's seems to fit in well with, or be a progression of the Hegelian Dialetic and Strauss. It has applications to 9/11, New Orleans and Iraq. It has a certain systems beauty to it and is a reasonably expected outcome of unchecked capitalism.
For me, and I'll tell you upfront, my answer is NO!!!; the biggest issue is whether this Administration, this congress, this judiciary: are they working in the best interests of the American Nation?
