I understand that Buffett is about Bermuda & th’ like, his mother-ship babee ~~ saved his soul better’n rock & roll. & flying his Albatross ‘round the islands and up n’down the Atlantic coast, fly fishin’ for stripped bass & avoiding law suits and stuff, ...which lends itself to the Gulf coast and the east coast...& the Midwest...& th’ south. What does Diamond Head have to do with Jimmy Buffett? Nada, ...it was just the way the music made them feel beside the pool. Surely they had a little Brudah Iz...& probably Don Ho, ...I think I remember hearing a track from Dave Gilmore’s About Face, & some Joe Walsh (which I dug) & maybe Glen Frey or Steve Winwood (could take or leave)...& Neil Young was always playin’, & some Beatles, & The Band, & I distinctly remember Pink Floyd’s San Tropez, ...they were chill that way too, ...just peaceful easy feeling tunes with a rock & roll bent ...but my primary point, Andrea, was: It’s just the way Ronnie & Wynn were. They were the definitive southern California chill, happenin', eccentric, shorts, deck shoes & ball cap, very eternally suntanned, mixing drinks in the sunshine, “Tommy Chong’s mom & pop” kind of folks. & how could anybody not love that about them..............then.
...until POPULATION and the rat-race hid the sun and banned use of the oceans by everyday people without a license or season tickets....
Please feel free to insert any music you want to groovy lady. Whatever gets you though the mucky-muck that’s overtaken the spaces ‘round yo crib. Best wishes & perseverance & all.
