Hey, man:
I've been cruising this site for years, but never realized you post here. Anyhoo...
I've been a big fan of your work since the David + David days and the promo disc for Triage (Baerwald on "Triage") is one of my most prized possessions; I often wish more people could hear those interview segments that intro the songs - they're profound and I often come back to that disc for sustenance in a crazy world.
One thing, though: I remember reading one of your interviews (I think this was to promote HCNFU) where you said you couldn't be like Springsteen, "writing the same song over and over". As a big fan of the Bossenheimer, as well, I was surprised at the diss (after all, the man has plugged Bedtime Stories in interviews). Are you familiar at all with his Human Touch and Lucky Town? If you haven't heard them, I would suggest checking them out. I think you'll find some of the writing on there (e.g. "The Big Muddy") pretty impressive.
Question: how the hell did you manage to get A&M to sign-off on the cover of Triage?
Best,
A.C.
