Doc, you made some good points, and I do concur with most. This is a topic that needs to be more openly discussed, in the hopes that as our understanding grows so would our ability to deal effectively with both the victims and culprits.

One thing that you inferred from my comments was that PT derived pleasure from the sites. What I said was “If you get excited seeing children in pain”. For most “normal” people, excitement is inferred to be pleasurable. But for those suffering through the vicious cycle of child molestation, it is a much different beast. 

This is such a sensitive topic, it makes someone as normally flippant as myself really take the time to think through any sort of response. A real gut check for me came when I looked up the definition of pedophilia in the dictionary. The act or fantasy on the part of an adult of engaging in sexual activity with a child or children. Under this definition, and I realize that it is not the same as the legal one, wouldn’t nearly anyone be “guilty” of pedophilia? Looking at a 17-year-old on a beach……act or fantasy…… Yikes.
