The legendary Beatles recording engineer has written an autobiography. It's incredible to read of the innovations and recording techniques this man is responsible for. Examples, dampening Ringo's bass drum with a sweater, putting vocals through a Leslie cabinet when Lennon described wanting his vocal track to sound liked he was the Dalai Lama chanting from a mountain top, close mikng, pre-amp distortion, automatic double tracking, just to name a few.

Most of it he had to do behind the backs of the bosses at EMI in case he was caught tampering with costly studio gear. What ever The Beatles could dream up hearing, it was Emericks job to get those sounds on tape. It's a good read, for any Beatlemaniacs or anyone interested in studio work.
