if i could only trust my gov't.    *sigh*

 

otherwise it sounds like a helpful idea, at least for the authorities. if truly dangerous people were routinely apprehended quicker as a result of it, then society would be safer and better served, yes. the price of our DNA 'privacy' for our communities' and our childrens' sake could be worth it.

it's bit like internet snooping to put away kiddie-porners. how many here are arguing against that one?

it's just that, as always, how will they be able to resist using it to go after political opponents, tax-cheats, extralegal businessmen, 'communists', dissidents, recreational drug users, etc.? (although i left a lot out, notice i put a variety of possible offenses here; it's almost like leaving an opening for meriticious tangential debate...however, Kevin's question remains.)
