A big thumb's up from me for Alejandro Escovedo's new release. Always been a fan and glad he's back in the game after that bout with Hep C and his debts. I thought that this one, based on that and the first "single" Arizona, would be some kind of meditation on mortality and it is but more so a celebration of life.
More of his punk roots than in other recent work, too. Involving surrealistic lyrics, some rockers and a heartbreaker or two as well:ie Evita's Lullaby.
