When thinking about emotional responses to situations being either funny or not I am reminded of a book I'm currently reading. The writer compared Newtonian and Quantum ways of seeing things, (well it's a book about the relationship between Buddhism and Psychotherapy). Basically feelings are 'relatively' real (yes you're right to be outraged about them making a comedy about something not funny, or being hit by a sledgehammer does indeed hurt = Newton). But these feelings and everything else that exists including 'me' are impermanent anyway and ultimately not real, and can therefore be laughed at = the Quantum approach. But to appreciate this sense of humour you'd have to be enlightened...which I'm not so it isn't fucking funny at all. In fact I'm fucking outraged, I mean how can they. Quick I need to find a cafe and sit down and drink espresso and watch the world go by
