Jason:

I was in a bookstore one day last summer, and although I cannot remember the book title or author, I do remember that one of the topics in that book were the contents of Marcellus Wallace's briefcase.

The guy who wrote that book talked about Wallace's soul being in the briefcase, and used an interesting example as his "proof." That example was the bandage on the back of his neck. One of the "creatures of the night' steals a person's soul by yanking it out of the back of the person's neck. That certainly sounds plausable to me, and I have seen PULP FICTION at least twenty times (or more).

It is among my favorite films of all-time!

Tarantino was very smart NOT to definitively answer that question, as it adds to the overall mystique of the film. One thing I know for sure IS NOT in that briefcase, and that would be money or gold. Money or gold would not have been able to stop those bullets from hitting Vincent Vega and Jules Winfield when they were at the apartment to collect from Brett.

A very intriguing film, and I am certainly looking forward to KILL BILL, which hits theatres on October 10, 2003. Mark your calendar now!!

However, what in the movie did Wallace do that lead you to believe he "changed his mind" about "selling his soul?"
