that's my Krav! but you're absolutely right about where the blame lies: ESPN, the commissioner's office, the owners, and the players union. they all were just fucking tickled pink about the increase in revenue, so they're all a bunch of &$^%$#!, sans doubt.
but why go after Bonds?
a.) he's a known user
b.) he's in complete [and whiny] denial. until recently fairly aggressive & arrogant about it, too.
c.) he's still playing
d.) he's threatening or breaking The Big Records
e.) he is, as previously noted since the beginning of Time, an Asshole
and [for some people this is probably true]
f.) he's black
[and might i add breaking sacred records previously held by (drunk & speed-addled) white guys. for what all that's worth. kinda cancels itself out in many ways, i suppose]
a.) & c.) are common to Giambi as well, but Bond's record-breaking combined with his historical Royal Barryness give him the edge here.
but not to fear, cause he ain't gonna make it to 756 anyway. he'll hit about 15-20 more this year - if he stays healthy. his knees & elbow are about to finish him off any moment, really.
the comment about how his teammates don't greet him at home plate speaks volumes, and i can't feel much joy in his trip myself any more. regardless of his fierce talents in his authentic prime, he's a rather sad figure to this lifelong Giants fan.
