In the June 12 issue of the New Yorker, there is a piece entitled "Soldiers Stories" which prints excerpts of real writings sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts (promising our enlisted men and women that they can write honestly w/o fear of retribution or other affect). I've been reading it (or trying to) for three nights now. Stunning and horrifying and very real. Rarely have I been so moved. Please seek this out and share it.
