It seems to me that these kinds of polls/articles are mainly about two types of people: the ones who are out there now, hustling and bustling, shucking and jiving and getting their songs heard by any means necessary, and the ones who did all that long ago and are now regarded as "classic."
Does DB really fit either category?
Of course, to you and me, he's tops! But I'd be surprised (albeit pleasantly so) to see him listed in a slick magazine as a top 100.
I'll take a Baerwald song over just about anybody's song, any day of the week! He is among the best songwriters. I don't need a magazine to back me on this; I know it to be true.
