not to get too right-wingy, but the military build-up has seemed to be quite useful as far as getting any Iraqi compliance. i very much doubt they'd be cooperative at all without it.

still, i wonder what all that $$$ would do for the people who live and work in this country in this time of national need - if they believed in helping the less-than-upper classes, that is. it doesn't appear to be a priority.
