Icon Sir George's "Love"

Picked up and listened to the entire new Beatles' mash "Love" last night & really liked it. It wasn't as sliced & diced as I'd expected. Most of the songs have been slightly tweaked to bring up things I'd never heard before in songs that are part of my DNA by now.

McCartney's bass playing is pulled way up on some tunes and he sounds great. Other little things like bongos in "A day in the Life" are pretty cool to hear.

Who better to take this on than Sir George Martin himself? I felt like I was hearing some of these songs through fresh ears again. There are some mixes that are jaw-droppingly cool: mixing "Hey Bulldog" into "Lady Madonna" for example, or the tabla track from "Within You, Without You" into "Here Comes the Sun".

It's a cool project and likely will earn the Beatles a younger crew of fans again.
