I just returned from seeing "Children of Men" this afternoon. One of
the things that I think makes good sci-fi or apocalypse movies is
attention to small details, and this movie pulls it off brilliantly. A
pretty bleak vision of the near future but not unrecognizable from our
own present. Note the Abu Ghraib-like poses of the fugee detainees
at the Bexhill refugee camp.I loved the soundtrack too. When's the last time you heard "In the
Court of the Crimson King"?
