I just returned from seeing "Children of Men" this afternoon. One of the things that I think makes good sci-fi or apocalypse movies is attention to small details, and this movie pulls it off brilliantly. A pretty bleak vision of the near future but not unrecognizable from our own present. Note the Abu Ghraib-like poses of the fugee detainees at the Bexhill refugee camp.

I loved the soundtrack too. When's the last time you heard "In the Court of the Crimson King"?
