Last night Craig Ferguson the host of The Late Late show on CBS took time out from his monologue to speak about Britney Spears and her issues. Saying "For me, comedy should have a certain amount of joy in it," Ferguson said. "It should be about attacking the powerful — the politicians, the Trumps, the blowhards — going after them. We shouldn't be attacking the vulnerable."

Ferguson himself is a recovering alcoholic, 15 years I believe, and his statements were truly heartfelt. I have seen him address the topic of his own sobriety on a couple of occasions and I was struck again last night by the openness and honesty he exhibited.

He's funny as well, but the real result was someone on network TV (albeit late late night TV) speaking with such honesty and integrity was riveting.

So far no video that I could find.

And to whomever recommended The Road as a good read, Thank you. I just finished and really enjoyed the book ("enjoyed" might not fit the tone of the book, but it was an excellent read)
