From my understanding, it was his live performances that made him legendary here - the loudness and the intensity and energy. There was a festival in the '70's called Sunbury and that's where he really rocked. He also had a reputation for living and partying hard.

He apparently lived and worked in the US for 20 years, not always in music. I heard he worked as a toy wholesaler...

For me - I'm only familiar with his best known song "Some people I know think that I'm crazy" and the recent "Long way to the top" tour which reunited a lot of Australian artists of yesteryear. Unfortunately, I didn't get ot the show.
