Through my lifetime, my biggest regret is and will be for some time, not being able to learn how to play a musical instrument

Eric, with all due respect, it sounds like you would really like to play, so in essence if that desire is there, I cannot comprehend how you could really lack the musicality to reach your goals.  Yes, the virtuosos are born seemingly with the ability to play or even master their instrument of choice at an early age, but for most of us, it takes 2 things: 1. The strong drive to want to learn. 2. Hard work.  You have the first requisite....the second is up to you.  Grab a guitar, sit down and have a bash at it....with a few lessons and some stick-to-it-iveness on your part, it should start playing all by itself, in no time.  And, it's not really "work", it's more like fun.  No matter how hopeless it might seem when you start, do not give up and keep shedding, and I guarantee you will be able to play.   P R A C T I C E
