As far back as celluloid’s been placed in front of a thespian with an idea from a page to the soul, …music, the score, …& that ol companion the flicker film have been our saving grace. Not the only saving grace, we got plenty of ‘em…but most of ‘em can be triggered by a good flick, a good book, a good album, a fresh pile of chopped wood beside a good fire or any physical likeness of the act of energies exhausted, mind elated, …or in a good ol fashioned waterside walk with a friend.
The Arts, …the fifth essential element.
[ya I know, blah0blah0blah…it didn’t quite go where I’d hoped it would…but there’s some element of truth in the babble. …James Spader has always seemed a little creepy to me, as far back as when an early character of his abused the fack out o m’man Robert Downey, Jr.’s character in Less Than Zero, but he carries this scene as good as any; so …good enough. Funny, though, how a would-be line is drawn in the sand and the pigeonholing will proceed even in lieu of the gut feeling that there’s truth in the dialogue.]
