I don't know what you're smoking down there in Texas but it must be some good shit.
Liberals see conservatives as somehow less intelligent. They have sophisticated answers for the worlds problems. And if you disagree with them they will muddle up the problem and make it sound a hell of lot more complex than it really is. I think liberals have little common sense, because they live in the world of the "theoretical". I truly believe as Michael Savage says it is a mental disorder. They have a blind spot but they will be damned to admit it
What? Pat, I don't see Dale as "less intelligent" than anyone here because he's got a different take on political matters. I think the main difference seems to be that some people here have followed what's going on with great interest and very closely and others have been more of a casual observer. In all honesty I can't blame someone who has casually followed what's going on thinking it's just more partisan bullshit. If you turn on the tv at night when you get home from work and hear "showdown between Bush and the Democrats" you'll most likely think "Great, more partisan nonsense."
That's how the media has promoted it giving people the false idea that this is just political bickering. It's not, crimes were committed, people have been prosecuted, it led to more ongoing investigations, the firings are just the tip of the iceberg. The thing is a lot of people in Washington are aware there is a mighty big iceberg right under the surface and the scramble is on now to make sure to get a seat on the life boat and not go down with the ship.
If it's not common sense to look at the facts and try to make a determination about what to do...what the hell would you call common sense?
It's a "mental disorder" to gather solid information to help you make a determination about the best course of action?
Dale it is like this latest non-scandal of these 8 attorneys. Hell Orielly only dug 24 hours and found dirt enough to fire 3 of them. But what does that matter? The Republicans are a bunch of fucking pussies that won't stand to Conyers.
Ok, let me make sure I have this right...people here present you with how the Republicans voted on issues surrounding this case, copies of the indictments, the fact that there are several ongoing investigations some begun by Republicans like Carol Lam, a list of people who have already been found guilty, a variety of evidential documents implicating members of the senior Bush White House staff, the fact that the White House is refusing to hand over some information and is hiding all communication with the Justice Department and documents related to this case for the 16 days leading up to the firings, the fact that they do not under any circumstance want to testify under oath about something they supposedly did not do, etc, etc, etc...
and you respond with...wait for it...
Bill O'Reilly.
Yes...we should base all of our thinking on what the talk show hosts of the world tell us...makes perfect sense...
Now I see why you would think I have a mental disorder. I've gone at this all wrong. I've been trying to look at the facts surrounding the issues to make my judgments...all I had to do was turn on a talk show and I would have understood everything...
Damn, do I feel silly.
Here is all one of them would have to say:
Question: Why did you fire those 8 appointed attorneys?
Answer: Because just like Reno did we FUCKING WANTED TO. Now fuck off until you get the presidency. If the president wants us to fire those fuckers we will. End of story. Was anything illegal done? Fuck no. When will the democrats find something of importance to focus on?
See Pat, the problem is there were illegal things done and prosecuted already and Ms. Lam was running an ongoing investigation with more indictments to follow...indictments of Republicans in fact...the president or his advisors, in this case, can fire attorneys but not with intent to kill ongoing investigations and manipulate the justice system and it's quite unusual to fire good attorneys put in place by Republican Senatorial recommendations and sponsorship...and Republicans voted to remove powers from the Patriot Act, Republicans took part in voting to subpoena White House staff and force them to turn over documents, it's not just an issue of Democrats chasing Bush around the White House lawn...
and as your cherry on top of this giant hallucinogenic sundae you once again throw things back on Bill Clinton.
You obviously got this little nugget from the talk show clowns and the absolutely hilarious aspect of it is that they got it from Republican distributed talking points. The problem being it has nothing to do with what is going on. Carter, Reagan, Clinton, and yes even Bushie fired a boatload of attorneys at the start of their terms...that is meaningless...but you're hanging on to it like it's the Holy Grail.
Why don't you just cut to the chase and say Clinton called Rove and Gonzales up and told them to fire those attorneys. Makes as much sense and come on, that's what you want isn't it...to be able to jump up and down and scream "Clinton did it, Clinton did it, Clinton did it!"
(by the way this post is at the top of the board because when I went to respond as part of the "Fuck Me" thread which is where all Pat's quotes in his post come from it would not allow me to enter anything into the text box...anyone else have that issue?)
