I think the problem with Hagel is he's another guy they just don't really want running for president (yeah, he's too reasonable...)

Mainly agree with you on both accounts (and Giuliani would be a hopeless choice), but don't discount ol' Hillary.   She's likely to get the nomination, and ....she'll have the funding behind her to get the job done.   Yes, Madame President,  I beg your pardon, Madame President....yeah, it kinda has a ring to it!
