Saint Jack - Shot on location in Singapore this a fantasic little film. Ben Gazzara was born to play this part. If you've never seen this go track it down.
I will seek it out.
Regarding Dustin Hoffman: He could beat rugs and make it interesting. We’ve seen most everything on his resume. Wag the Dog was even worth watching (for Hoffman; although DeNiro is brilliant certainly, there’s always been something…hmm…clever or…I don’t know…about Hoffman that has appealed to me…. We just watched Papillon a couple Sundays ago…& were talking about getting Little Big Man on DVD. Straw Dogs, thanks to your Peckinpah recommendations, still lingers in a purgatory corner of my mind. Funny thing…I didn’t really enjoy Meet the Parents but Meet the Fockers was worth a look for the Dustin Hoffman offerings. You’re right, it would be nice to see him in something dark, poignant & dramatic again. Likely we will…as long as there’s still time….
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is slated for release before Christmas; although it looks & feels like a relative of Toys, maybe a charmer.
