One thing I did forget to mention was this also could be a "personal" matter in the unit for all we know. One thing I've learned from my occupation and current assignment is that there are so many variables that have to be taken into account to determine what has happened. For example, unlike shown in the popular media, bodies do not react to gunshots like many people think, but that is not to say they can't react in a somewhat similar manner. I have actually seen a video depiction of a person getting shot with a shotgun deer slug to demonstrate what happens to the body when hit (a man dressed up in protective garb and then had a person shoot him - it was all well researched and studied before attempting this). When the man was hit he did not go flying back. He actually was able to just stand there. Certainly, the impact of most likely three rifle rounds to the skull will do massive damage and most likely especially to the exit area. But it would be hard to determine the distance beyond a certain range unless other evidence is present. Also, who is to say that Tillman was not dead all ready or mortally wounded by the first shot and stationary and then shot again and again. And if it was an M16, they can be set for three shot bursts. And if this was at night, then features and identifying garb might have been unable to be determined. Now, I'm not excusing this at all or trying to explain it in a way that offers justification, because I am sick about this. A person, Tillman, did something so heroic, was killed under terrible circumstances and people for whatever reasons covered it up to save their asses or save something in such a cynical way and it continues to go on.
