Lately I haven't been buying many new cds, but one I can suggest that still impresses me is "Tell It To The Dust" by Anders Parker. And if you want a great cd to listen to while sipping some whiskey, try The Fitzgerald by Richmond Fontaine. Also, a great single is You're a Wolf by Sea Wolf. Can't get that damn tune out of my head.As for finding new music, try CMJ New Music magazine. During the last six months they have really shocked me. It's kind of pricey - 40 bucks a year, but the magazine comes with a cd and lately the cds have been full of really good music lately.Another good magazine is Paste Magazine. It also comes with a cd but sadly, by going monthly, I detect they have lost some quality in their song compilations. Hope this helps a bit.
And of course, there is always the man himself. Not trying to suck up to the guy, but on the one hand I think a lot of us here want to hold his music in our hand like a pretty little jewel and admire it for the quality and art it is out of fear if he becomes hugely known he might lose that special touch........nah.....not really. From coming here for so long I really don't thing DB will ever change - and for us, that is probably a good thing. Though I do wish more people were familiar with this guy.
