I was talking to my daughter Ripley last night as she returned from her Wisconsin vacation with my wife.

As we were getting ready for bed I told her that tomorrow was going to be her first day of school. Here is part of that exchange:

Ripley: Daddy if I go to lots of preschool then I can go to college right?

Roger: Absolutely. I really really hope you like to learn.

Ripley: What happens if I don't want to learn?

Roger: Well then you'll live your life making the same mistakes over and over again. You won't get far.

Ripley: Could I make it to Wisconsin ??

All I could do was laugh.
