While I have been frustrated by the label's ability to capitalize on the street team concept, I am not going to blame them beyond that. Without LH the album would not be available at all, and there wouldn't have been the spring tour. The venues in that first round generally did a lackluster job themselves - misspelling names, not posting fliers etc... I can hardly fault the label for that.
The biggest issue seems to be the lack of independence that radio stations have. DJ's are not really even music fans any more because they don't get any sort of creative license. The songs they must play are printed out on sheets of paper, and if they are lucky a disc jockey will be allowed to play one or two songs a shift at their discretion. Most DJs I speak with not only are ignorant of new artists, but rarely even attend concerts themselves. Not surprising considering how little they are expected to think. Of course there is something of "you get what you pay for" since many of the radio personalities only get $6-10 an hour. That would also explain the number of promo discs hitting the stores - how else are they to supplement their income?

If none of this works I suggest you all pack your bags and move to Madison. WMMM 105.5 FM plays and plugs NFU.
