I'm actually reading Felder's autobio right now.  It's a fairly interesting life, even though it seems he was the kind of person who let events happen to him rather than being a catalyst for his own success.  He was profoundly lucky to have met an known Bernie Leadon as a high schooler.  If not for that . . .

In the book, he mentions that he was a partner at the time of their first breakup.  Upon reforming for Hell Freezes Over, he was forced into a slightly smaller share, which he took.  At the time of the next resumption of activities, he drawn a slighly smaller share (although I would guess, completely reasonable given his level of input vs. the others).  This second reduction was apparently not acceptable to him.  I'm kind of glad for the change as S. Smith really brought the best instrumental parts to the table on the new album, both from as a player and as a writer of musical parts.
