it’s a family, recreation, and repast oriented day today for many so I figure what could it hurt to post this: I tried coffee from a French Press just now for the first time. Bought it for camping/canoeing last year and never used it, …’s been sitting next to the grinder all year just looking pretty. So anyway, the following is the YouTube “how to” that I used for orientation and for the sunny side up pleasantness that the sweetie therein exudes. Just one thing, if anybody’s listening, use about double the coffee she uses for a good dark smooth coffee experience. Mine is a two cup press so I used 4 heaping tsp. where normally I’d use a heaping tablespoon of fresh ground for every two cups in a 12 cup drip coffeemaker.

On a list of counted blessings, the dbis is in the top 10. I cannot say why exactly because it’s a forlorn & angst-filled sort of outpost, but it’s got moxy and it’s not snot-nosed and it’s no less dysfunctional than the above average family trying to pass as a freedom loving lot. Happy day to those of you who find some joy in that sorta thing.
