Obama wasn't on the national political scene until his senate run in 2004. Before that he had some renown in Illinois. This is a guy groomed by the state, and then national party machine to be just where he is right now, so trying to tout what stance he had on the war prior to 2004 is reasonably irrelevant, although if I were to find out that he made any comments supporting the war or Bushco's absence of foreign policy I would be surprised. Here's the thing--what's past is past. I don't care if candidate A voted for or against the war in 2003. I care what they're going to do to restore the USA's standing as a respectable nation and stop the imperialistic course that we're currently on. And so far, not one of them, Republican or Democratic, has shown me any sort of cojones on that subject. Every single one of them waffles to some degree because it's a topic that most voters don't even understand because they've been drinking the sound bite politics they've been served for the last 20 years or so that they've forgotten how to think critically (if they indeed ever knew).
