This got me to thinking - just what should the label be expected to do?

Exactly, the DBTs have been stomping the roads for a long time before LH signed them.

People forget that the major labels may sponser the tours for the big acts but they also bill all of this stuff back to the artist.Any profit the band "may" see comes after the label recoupes these expenses.

There are loads of bands with no label deal at all that constantly tour. I would guess that if done correctly, they sometimes make money at it.

The Dixie Chicks just sued there label, Sony and claimed that the label's accounting practices were off kilter. The Chicks won they right to jump out of thier contract but the agreement calls for them to reimburse some 15 million dollars to Sony.

The old adage "be careful what you ask for " comes to mind.
