"* buy banks, or shares thereof "

haha.. yeah right! I am glad to at least to see somebody on dbis FINALLY mention our government's fiscal problems. Ron Paul knows it and talks incessently about it (as they ALL should) but since he's been sidelined by the MSM and his own party, I don't have any faith in the good Doctor being elected.

That being said, I understand it just as he does and am furious at my government at the moment. BOTH sides for their seeming indifference to it. It's a major problem.

Last year (and definately the start of this year) has been my best ever by far in the stock market (30+% yeehaa!). I sold all my tech, shipping and industrial stocks and started buying gold and gold miner stocks and agriculture in August because I could see what was happening and that it was the last place a saver can put his money in a very inflationary fiscal environment. I was getting 4% on my money at the bank, but inflation is clearly near 10%. As Ron Paul says, "we are being robbed!" And it's gonna get far worse. I am totally short on financial stocks like banks and builders.

What bothers me the most though is that the average American doesn't even realize how badly their government, through the use of the endless money making machine being the Fed, is manipulating them.

Just today, helicopter Ben said he's willing to pull out all the stops to keep things under control. Which means he's gonna print money like there is no tomorrow. Hello consumer inflation! Banks will tighten, and are already going out to foreigners with hat in hand to sell assets. You wanna buy that?

And what happens when Joe Six Pack saver figures it out too? He'll be running to the bank to get his money out and that means no more reserves for the bank, which means a lot less loans and a lot less profit. Did you not see what happened to Northern Rock in England late last year? Do you think a bank run can only happen there?

The PPT (plunge protection team) is real and should also be given consideration as that alone will tell you how badly our money is manipulated.
