I've trumpeted Dan Bern before - and I check his site every so often for new releases. Maybe this is old news to Bern fans - but he has put 3 prev. unreleased albums as downloads only on itunes. From what I gather - these were albums Dan shelved for various reasons - and now they're making their debut. This is all fine and good - but the download only part really really stinks. Now, I'm a huge fan of divorcing the disc - but to offer up this great stuff as compressed digital tracks is a waste. As digital delivery becomes the norm - are we going to be stuck with compressed audio? I hope not.
