fact o the matter is, although I do enjoy many lady singer-songwriters, I never really got

into Sheryl Crow.    Although there’s little doubt she’s musically trained to the max,  her

voice, music, has mostly come off kinda contrived  …or something ~~~ like it’s all been

done…or something.  See, now I feel like a dickhead for saying so.  Who the fuck am I,

anyway,   …no doubt she’s a lady among men  no matter how much she may or may not

have done badly by her previous collaborators.   I suppose it’s a nasty business when one

gets into the business of it.    & who gets what credit is not,  IMHO,  as important as how

well the efforts come off in a room  with only  the people  and the music and the ambience.

The whole  unholy course of  the commodity of art  & the process  of the income of bean-

counters and personal proceeds and ambition iz where  the art & science of creating  loses

it’s soul anyway.     Hey,  I’m not speaking from the experience of having my own creation

raped and pillaged by a machine that does not breath the same air as the artist breaths,   so

it’s all grain-of-salt stuff,   but I do see the deadly deeds that tumult one good artist enough

to have her/him abiding away in the backbacks o the business just to keep from selling out.

So we, the listeners, might opt not to help the mealy-mawed & fobbing moot machinators

machinate on behalf  of the corrupting conduit  while rallying against the purest processes

of one human being creating  in the company of likeminded souls  with the tools and the

wherewithal to opt to come together in a world where coming apart is the status quo.
