Sounds like a good idea, especially in light of the divergent "best of" lists we all just posted. I would love to be able to hear a track or two from those artists rather than trying to go out and buy them without knowing much about them. While most record stores let you try before you buy, with the quirky stuff others have mentioned I find that one has to often special order it.

Through this web site I have already become exposed to a lot of music I otherwise never would have - including Kevin Gilbert, Venice Underground, Terry Allen, Will Sexton, Ozric Tentacles, 16 Horsepower, Brad Mehldau, Abra Moore and Aphex Twin.  

I can easily put together a sampler of 15-20 songs from a variety of artists - hell I could even divvy it up by genre and do a few.
