For me, the real issue is that it is high time our system of Checks and Balances started meaning something again, no matter who occupies the Oval Office. All the talk of who will be President matters less to me than the question of what will we--and by "we" I mean the people represented in/by Congress--what will we allow the Executive Branch to do? How much power have we granted the President (largely through ignorance, in at least two different meanings of the word), going far beyond limitations clearly set by the Constitution?A Clinton, Obama, McCain . . . Presidency should experience something the Bush one has had far too little of: Congressional Roadblocks to reckless use of power. The President is NOT a king! In a very real sense, all the hoopla over who will get to be President should be seen as little more than spectacle (sort of like who will win American Idol--which will be David Archuleta).Congress is cowed by a president that seems to have the backing of the population. Isn't it time we started backing the Congress more, making those calls to our representatives, writing those letters . . . Or not? What do others think?Reg, am I in over my head here? Herring405
