Awful news. I listened to a lot of blues, but especially Jeff Healey, around the time I parted company with my first husband. I dragged my husband's best friend along to see the JHB in concert. It was the most awesome experience - the energy, the noise! It was so loud that my chest was thumping, but it was wonderful - never to be forgotten. Seeing Jeff play the guitar on his lap, over his shoulder and every which way...and listening to his beautiful deep resonant voice both when singing and interacting with the audience between songs.

I discovered him watching "Roadhouse" - crap movie, but great soundtrack - made me seek him out. Bought every release since then and will certainly get the new one, even though it'll no doubt make me cry. He was special. RIP.
