Per your post, more Palestinians report supporting armed struggle and suicide bombings against Israel than before, and at the same time they report less support for, and confidence in, not only Hamas but all their political leaders...?

Sounds to me like a clear indication that the current policy isn't working so well Dale. Not hard to predict that as people's faith in their leaders dwindles and their situation becomes more desperate they're going to become more likely to do stupid stuff

So again, what's wrong with Jimmy Carter's efforts to provide structure and leadership to a situation that has long passed its pull-date? He can't force these people to talk to each other. All he can do is try & open the door a little.
