It's written that way as a pretty unsubtle media manipulation.  Looks like it's working, too.

The more recent Jeremiah Wright comments are downright stupid, if he indeed wants Obama to win.  Realize that an Obama win immediately reduces the power of race-baiting minority leaders like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Rev. Wright dramatically.  [That's not to say that that every complaint they raise is invalid, but it is a direct shot to their crude distortions.]
