Great post Gene. Yeah - whenever I'm in the neighborhood I always drive by my old apartments to see what's going on. A couple of years ago I got the idea to document the places I've lived in with pictures and videos. Maybe someday - someone will ask me where I've lived - and what d'ya know - I can show them. I got the idea because I asked my dad once about his boyhood homes. He mentioned that he lived in a house not very far from where one of my friends at the time lived...and I had no idea and the fact I had no idea knocked me out. I'm a real visual person - and just seeing that place and then connecting the history was a great feeling. But then this goes to my whole family history thing and my dismay that family histories in our culture are so easily (and quickly) forgotten. So - I'm doing my part by keeping my little resident history alive and well. Again Gene - great post. And thanks Dave for sharing that insight about the Crossing Guard.

There are two things you need for an adventure, a treasure map and someone dumb enough to go with you.
