Haven't heard that . Will give it a spin, based on your rec Cyan. In past I have only liked some of their offerings. I have Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and like about 1/2 of that. Very creative band, but not one of my favs, so I look forward to listening to this one to see if it changes my mind.
My 2007 was spent listening to probably too much Electronica/Noise/Improv stuff and the usual large doses of classical and jazz. This year is proving about the same, though I dusted off some Tony Rice I hadn't listened to in ages. I don't recall listening to any rock except for previous SWD recordings and the new one by Adam Franklin (Bolts of Melody...highly recommended but I would in no way call it Album of the Year). If you do like classical piano...immediately get Evgeny Kissin playing the Chopin Ballades...it's stunning (easily found, Sony Classical).
But for a nice mind-melt try: Mesmeric Enabling Device by Ayers, Everall and Harris. It will take you places you couldn't possibly dream.....a peculiar feeling of being wowed and disturbed at the same time. Lets just say "uneasy". Heh Heh.
