David & David Win the Herring Challenge!
A friend recommended two videos. I quickly took to the winnowing process, listening to both in one sitting.First video: Eddie Izzard doing a two-minute comedy snippet about "the evil giraffe." First thoughts: very funny. Later thoughts: yep, still funny, only not quite so surprising any more.Second Video: David & David (no, not the guys from American Idol), doing "Welcome to the Boomtown." First thoughts: well, I had my first thoughts on this one about 20 years ago, and I remember thinking "wow, cool, great stuff, I look forward to hearing their second record . . . "Later thoughts: 20 years later, I look forward even more to hearing their second record! Hooray for the hope of it!Conclusion: Baerwald and Ricketts Owned this thing! Izzard never had a chance!So, Messy, for suggesting the winner, name yer prize!Herring405
PS: Am I the only one around here who has noticed that the two strongest contenders in American Idol are David (Archuleta) and David (Cook)? Perhaps they should make a record together. But then, what could they call it?
