For teh most part things seem to be calmer at the moment. But in Gauteng alone we now have something like 19 000 displaced (read homeless) people. Several organisations and people are starting campaigns and drives to help these people.

Today's Star had a heartbreaking picture of a little girl who got caught up and trampled in a stampede when a crowd was ordered to disperse... She should be okay once the cuts and bruises heal but it makes you really angry, you know? These are the very people we should be protecting. And it's the same thing I have always maintained. Be whatever you want to be, and believe whatever you want to believe, once you are an adult and can make that decision for yourself. But kids are just kids. They know no prejudice and rely on us to take care of them. Imagine trying to explain to that little girl that she was hurt becuase she speaks a different language?
