Five years ago I swore that I'd never attend another stadium show. Too damn big, traffic woes, a drain on the wallet, and the band look like Lilliputians. Well, the desire for my daughter to witness Bruce and company (before he's eligible for Medicare) caused me to re-think my position.

Last night's show in Foxboro, Massachusetts clearly demonstrated that Bruce, a year from 60, can still mightily impress the masses. Sure Clarence spends most of the show on a stool, but he can still nail that amazing Jungleland solo. Nils guitar prowess is undiminished, and Max bashes away, never missing a beat. But the most astounding part of the show continues to be Bruce's commitment to excellence. The sheer physicality of his performance is astounding. I don't know how his body, and voice, hold out.

There's a special satisfaction to seeing one's child fall in love with Bruce,(as I did over 30 years ago). Ally is even putting the quality songs on her iPod: Growin' Up, Hard To Be A Saint In The City, Rosalita, etc.

Thursday, in a show of generational reciprocity, I get introduced to The Jonas Brothers. Sounds about right!
