A note from Ron Paul
Months ago I ordered a book from the Ron Paul website, and since then I've been getting these emails--which are the only way I hear about what he's up to with any regularity.Will it be amusing, at least, even to those who aren't interested in the guy, to know of his rally in St. Paul, just down the road from the Republican National Convention? I don't know. McCain seems eager to postpone his event for hurricane reasons, but I hope he doesn't so we can get a sense of the contrast . . . An even bigger contrast, I imagine, will be between the RNC convention and last week's DNC one. What were there, some 80,000 people, with thousands more standing outside . . .Will McCain match that enthusiasm?I think RP's stadium only holds 30,000 or something. Will he fill it?Anyway, here is the email I got today from the Ron Paul people, minus the stadium illustration. A certain Democratic senator, recently passed over for the Republican vice-presidential nod, is likely to be our next secretary of state. Both major parties remain committed to militarism and reckless spending - and inflationism to fund it all.At their convention the Democrats uttered barely a peep about the surveillance state, the police state, and the Bush administration's disastrous foreign policy. Needless to say, there was not a word about the Fed and what it's done to our economy. We can only imagine what the GOP Convention will have in store for us.The Rally for the Republic is the first step in alerting our countrymen to these dangers, and holding out the message of freedom as the only remedy.
