Kevin - not sure where this article comes from. Either way - I didn't like it when they used Kerry's military record against him and I don't care for this either. We frame everything in the here and now - and even more so - we frame everything in our narrow world view. After reading through the article - save for the last bit - it seems to me like Mccain's time spent in Hanoi wasn't an altogether pleasant experience and I doubt anyone here can say for certain what they would or wouldn't have done in his place.
I do think, however, we've stretched the meaning of hero out pretty thinly over the past 7 or so years.
