Agree, Ed. Looks like the ploy is starting to backfire, badly. The business of not being able to make the debate is the icing on the cake. Obama, wisely told him to shove it. McCain had better get his butt to the debate, or I don't see how he can look the public in the eye again if he doesn't show up. His actions the past week, have spoken louder than any campaign rhetoric. The polls now clearly show Obama breaking away decisively in most swing states. Come Nov 4th, Mr.McCain is going to have his yellow slip handed to him.
